Jeanie Marie Buss has been an American entrepreneur for over 20 years. She is the owner of control of the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association and currently acts as the association's president. Buss is a native of California and grew up as an heir to a prestigious family. Jerry Buss' father was an entrepreneur in real estate who was later a part owner of the Lakers and several other companies in the field of sports. In 1972, her parents split together and she felt lost. At the age of 19 she was able to take over her role as General Manager of the Los Angeles Strings professional Tennis team as their General Manager. In the following years, she created the Los Angeles Blades roller hockey professional team. In the beginning, she was vice-president of the Lakers prior to taking over the presidency of the Great Western Forum. Buss as well as her five sisters took over his Lakers majority ownership following the passing of Busshis father in the year 2013. Every sister was given equal rights. Buss was elected in 2013 to take control for the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss runs Women of Wrestling in Los Angeles which is an organization that encourages professional wrestling.
